1st & 2nd Class – May/June Fortnightly Plan
This resource is a fully planned fortnightly scheme designed for 1st & 2nd Class, themed around Summer & Holidays. The plan is structured, engaging, and accessible, with clear routines, visual supports, and differentiated activities to support a range of learning needs, including SEN and autism.
The fortnightly plan is linked to the Irish Primary Curriculum and is cross-curricular, using Summer & Holidays as a meaningful theme across literacy, numeracy, SESE, and SPHE. Activities explore topics such as summer weather, beach holidays, travel, summer safety, sea life, holidays around the world, and outdoor activities, while building vocabulary, comprehension, communication, and early research skills.
Tasks are designed to balance structure and independence, with opportunities for hands-on learning, sorting and classifying, simple investigations, written work, discussion, movement breaks, and creative activities. Visual supports and clear instructions are included to reduce cognitive load and support engagement for all learners.
