3rd & 4th Class – April Fortnightly Plan
This resource is a fully planned fortnightly scheme designed for 3rd & 4th class, themed around Minibeasts. The plan is structured, engaging, and accessible, with clear routines, visual supports, and differentiated activities to support a range of learning needs, including SEN.
The fortnightly plan is linked to the Irish Primary Curriculum and is cross-curricular, using Minibeasts as a meaningful theme across literacy, numeracy, SESE, and SPHE. Activities explore classification, habitats, life cycles, food chains, and the role of minibeasts in ecosystems, while developing subject-specific vocabulary, comprehension, and research skills.
Tasks are designed to promote independence and critical thinking, with opportunities for investigation, group work, written responses, project-based learning, and creative tasks. Clear instructions and optional visual supports are included to support understanding and reduce cognitive load where needed.
