3rd & 4th Class – May/June Fortnightly Plan
This resource is a fully planned fortnightly scheme designed for 3rd & 4th Class, themed around Summer & Holidays. The plan is structured, engaging, and accessible, with clear routines, visual supports, and differentiated activities to support a range of learning needs, including SEN.
The fortnightly plan is linked to the Irish Primary Curriculum and is cross-curricular, using Summer & Holidays as a meaningful theme across literacy, numeracy, SESE, and SPHE. Activities explore topics such as travel, tourism, weather and climate, seaside environments, water safety, countries and cultures, and summer activities, while developing subject-specific vocabulary, comprehension, and research skills.
Tasks are designed to promote independence and critical thinking, with opportunities for investigation, group work, written responses, project-based learning, creative activities, and discussion-based tasks. Clear instructions and optional visual supports are included to support understanding and reduce cognitive load where needed.
